Flash Player 8 Public Beta
I just found this now on VersionTracker via an RSS feed, Flash Player 8 Public Beta now appears to be available, so I guess for those of you who like to be bleeding edge, in the words of the Rolling Stones - "let it bleed".

My copy of Tiger has just arrived by courier and the dilema is whether to install or carry on with the code that I'm debugging.

The delights of Spotlight & Dashboard will have to wait until tonight as I want to do a backup of the current drive image before boldly installing....more

Virtual PC 7 Arrived
I received Virtual PC 7 in the post yesterday and tried it out (some other sofware called Office that came with it is still lying around on my desk somewhere). I have OSX 10.3.5 on a new G4 Powerbook. The initial install was straightforward, and you can install it alongside VPC 6....more

Skype Beta for OS X Available
Skype just has to be one of those current "must have" bits of software, it gives you the ability to same big dollars by delivering free internet telephony via P2P.

Contribute 3 & FlashPaper 2
Sneaking under the blog radar last week was the online release of Contribute 3 along with FlashPaper 2, For Mac users it means that they now also have the ability to produce FlashPaper content.

Flash 7.2 Updater Hiccup
The Flash 7.2 updater install went smoothly on my PowerBook with the exception of launching Flash afterwards. Should have had Matt's post to read before I started.

The activation software for Flash wouldn't let me activate because it had thought that I had done this too many times already....more

Safari, Firefox from the source
Using OS X Safari is easy because it's just there, kinda like IE on Windows, and it's a pretty good browser - easy to use right from the start but using it as a development tool is another story....more
